Established in 2009, the Woodside–Portola Valley Fire Foundation is dedicated to providing funding and resources to augment the budget of the Woodside Fire Protection District.

The Foundation supports several programs within the district, including the public CPR instruction, First Aid training, the Chipper program, educational outreach, and other programs.

Starting in 1924, many local residents of Woodside and Portola Valley gave freely of their time as volunteer firemen of the Woodside Fire District.
